Artissima. 2023

From 2 to 5 of November this year, Meno Parkas Gallery returns for the fourth time to Artissima, one of the most important contemporary art fairs in Turin, Italy.

For the 30th anniversary edition, 191 galleries from 19 countries are participating in the fair. In 2019, Meno Parkas by the magazine “Artribune” was selected as one of the top 10 galleries to see for its debut at this prestigious fair. This year, Meno Parkas presenting works of 4 Lithuanian artists - Patricija Jurkšaitytė, Eglė Ridikaitė, Kęstutis Zapkus and Žilvinas Landzbergs.

We are very happy to announce that during the Artissima art fair, we will present Patricija Jurkšaitytė as an artist of Meno Parkas Gallery and Egle Ridikaitė as a guest artist for the first time.

The choice of the artists was motivated by the gallery's desire to link the names of the most talented artists, more or less known in Europe or abroad: Patricija Jurkšaitytė, Eglė Ridikaitė, Žilvinas Landzbergs, as well as the influential Kęstutis Zapkus, who is well known both in New York and in Lithuania, to the European context – to the elite participants of the European art scene, who can be met here at Artissima. Our aim is to seek, create and strengthen common links between Lithuanian contemporary art and European art.

The central axis of the Meno Parkas Gallery stand is space(s). Kęstutis Zapkus's paintings – as a construction on a surface transform into a space, while Žilvinas Landzbergas installations – interiors – are already a created space. Patricija Jurkšaitytė and Eglė Ridikaitė directly depict interiors in their works. Žilvinas Landzbergas works are already well known to visitors of the fair, while the other three artists will be participating in the fair for the first time.

2023 will be an exceptional year for participation in contemporary art fairs, of which there are 7 this year. Three of them are debuts - Expo Chicago (artists Agnė Jonkutė, Žilvinas Landzbergas, Gintautas Trimakas), ARCOlisboa (artists Patricija Gilytė, Žilvinas Landzbergas), the Brussels video art fair Around Video (artist Neringa Naujokaitė), as well as four fairs in which Meno Parkas had participated several times already. These are Vienna Contemporary (artists Eglė Ulčickaitė, Kęstutis Zapkus, Elena Balsiukaitė), POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair (artists Eglė Ulčickaitė, Robertas Antinis, Gabrielė Aleksė and Neringa Naujokaitė), LOOP Fair Barcelona (artist Simona Žemaitytė), and Artisssima.
