For the first time gallery "Meno parkas" (Kaunas / Dusseldorf) will going to participate at contemporary art fair ArtVerona. The 14th edition of ArtVerona will be held from 12 to 15 October 2018 at Veronafiere (Viale del Lavoro 8, 37135 Verona VR, Italy). With a view to internationalizing the Fair in the direction of North-Eastern Europe, the focus is on a selection of the most interesting research galleries of a foreign country, this year Lithuania (The section: Focus on - Lithuania is curated by Julija Reklaitė, cultural attaché of Lithuania in Italy).

“Meno parkas” gallery is presenting works by 4 artists - Sonata Riepšaitė, Rosanda Sorakaitė, Remigijus Treigys and Tomas Vosylius. Prepared exposition will open the view of Lithuanian art scene from the point of calm Nordic gaze, with a glimpse of humor and self-irony.
Two strong, sincere, precise young painters developing different practises in this medium. One of them – Sonata Riepšaitė (b. 1993) – after her studies at Royal Academy of Arts in Hague (Netherlands), she reached her painting doing it with charcoal, what lead to absence or limitation of colours, also, images are cleared out of objects – all of this creates sound of silence and the emotions.
Meanwhile Rosanda Sorakaitė (b. 1988) is already known, since she was awarded with Young painter prize and already had solo presentations in fairs in New York, London, also group presentation in Basel and other. Her field of interest is aesthetics of commonness, moment of silence in life. She is picturing empty interiors or images where the only acting character is the light.
Which links her to Remigijus Treigys (b. 1961), who's photographs have similar quality - his dreamlike views of the seemingly abandoned cities, fields, landscapes, where silhouettes of animals or people appear like accidental events. They "happen" in the photos stage. The last author - Tomas Vosylius (b. 1977) - is a sculptor. He is known for being very skilled at old technologies, ways of treating and conquering material. On the opposite he prefers human figure or its parts, or objects deeply connected with human (via exploitation of houses, swings, tools etc). In his works maintain question of inner state, alienation, shell. Concerning things, that remain unseen while being in this inner closure. Precise technique and form is followed with sharp sense of humour pecking human weaknesses, externalizing limitations and fears
“Meno parkas” exposition will dwell light melancholy of the soul in contemporary changing world - staying in deep connection with oneself but with eyes opened for the future to come.
