Simona Merijauskaitė. MONADOS

Exhibition Time: 03 09 2021–26 09 2021
Meno Parkas Gallery (Rotušės a. 27, 44279 Kaunas, Lithuania)

"At the MONADOS exhibition, I present the latest cycle of paintings. The main idea is connections, distances and the subjects relations expressed through it. This topic is organically intertwined with my creative contemplations. Observing nature, I turn my gaze from the subject towards what moves it and connects it with the whole.

I compare the stone motif with the concept of a monad. Each monad have individual experience, it is not available to anyone else and unfolds only through interaction. Cezanne painted the air between himself and Mount Victoria. The stones resonate with each other. That invisible experience is the goal.

It was interesting to paint this cycle. I am fascinated by the peacefulness of the philosophical unit of monad. Despite its impersonal, I am affected only by monad presence and the purity of the idea."
